Ingredients
Strawberry margarita: Fresh strawberries muddled into the shaker make a fruity, rosy margarita that still comes in under 6 g net carbs.
- Muddle the strawberries in the shaker until completely pulpy before adding the tequila, lime and syrup. Strain through a fine sieve into the glass to catch the seeds.
Spicy jalapeño: Jalapeño slices shaken with the tequila and a chili-salt rim give a slow, building heat.
- Mix the chili powder into the salt for the rim.
- Muddle 3 or 4 jalapeño slices in the shaker (more if you like it hot, and seeds for real fire), then shake as directed and garnish with another slice.
Ranch Water: The West Texas favorite: tequila and lime topped with sparkling mineral water instead of syrup. It is unsweetened, crisp and very refreshing.
- Skip the syrup and the shaker. Fill a tall glass with ice, add the tequila and lime juice, and top with the sparkling mineral water. Stir once and garnish with a lime wedge. The salt rim is optional.

Instructions
-
Stir the allulose into the warm water until dissolved, then add the orange zest and let it steep while you prepare the glass.
-
Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass and dip the rim in coarse salt. Fill the glass with ice.
-
Put the tequila, lime juice and orange syrup in a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice. Shake hard for 15 seconds, until the shaker is frosty.
-
Strain into the glass over the fresh ice and garnish with a lime wheel.
Tips for success
-
Triple sec and other orange liqueurs are mostly sugar. A little fresh orange zest gives the same orange aroma for almost no carbs, and a drop of pure orange extract works too.
-
For a pitcher (8 drinks), combine 2 cups tequila, 1 cup lime juice, ½ cup allulose dissolved in ½ cup warm water and the zest of 1 orange. Chill, then shake or stir with ice to order.
-
Alcohol can hit harder and faster on keto, so pace yourself and drink water between rounds.
Nice to have, not needed
- A cocktail shaker chills and dilutes it just right — a jar with a tight lid works.
Storage & meal prep
- Best eaten fresh

Prep tip: Make the orange-allulose syrup ahead — it keeps 2 weeks in the fridge.
