Ingredients
Almond milk & cream: For anyone who dislikes coconut, almond milk and a splash of heavy cream make a neutral, creamy base that lets the spices come through.
- Heat gently and don’t let it boil. Cream can catch on the bottom of the pan, so whisk more often than you would with coconut milk.

Instructions
-
Whisk both coconut milks, the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon and pepper together in a small saucepan.
-
Heat over medium-low, whisking now and then, 4–5 minutes, until steaming and just beginning to bubble at the edges. Turn the heat to low and let it steep 2 minutes for a deeper spice flavor.
-
Take it off the heat and stir in the vanilla and sweetener. Strain through a fine sieve if you used fresh ginger.
-
Froth with a handheld frother or blend for 10 seconds, then pour into mugs and dust with a little extra cinnamon.
Tips for success
-
Turmeric stains. Use a glass or stainless-steel pan and wipe up spills right away.
-
Keep a jar of the spice mix handy (2 parts turmeric, 1 part cinnamon, 1 part ground ginger and a pinch of black pepper). Whisk 1 teaspoon into each mug's worth of milk and it's ready in minutes.
-
Stir in a teaspoon of ghee or coconut oil for a richer, more filling cup.
Nice to have, not needed
- A handheld frother makes it silky and café-like — whisking hard in the pan works too.
Storage & meal prepMeal-prep friendly
- Keeps 3 days in the fridge
- Doesn’t freeze well
Reheat: Warm gently over low heat, whisking, then froth again.
Refrigerate up to 3 days. The spices settle, so stir well, reheat gently and froth again.
